Within Visual Studio Code, select the EXTENSIONS pane and search for Azurite in the EXTENSIONS:MARKETPLACE. The following image shows the command line output that appears when you run an Azure Function project. Any attempt to start the legacy emulator will be blocked because Azurite is using the listening ports that are required by the legacy storage emulator. That's because Visual Studio might try to start the legacy storage emulator that is built into Visual Studio. The sync command is also missing a number of other flags that copy has without any apparent reason, for example, -blob-type.If you start the project by using the debug build configuration, you might receive an error. Please add support for the -from-to flag to the sync command as there's no reason for the command not to support it. The following command works:Īzcopy copy"C:\LocalDir" "" -from-to LocalBlobĪzcopy sync "C:\LocalDir" "" -from-to LocalBlob unknown flag: -from-to Again, no guidance on this anywhere in azcopy help or docs. The crucial difference that allows copy to work is the fact that it supports the -from-to flag, and supplying -from-to LocalBlob helps AzCopy to figure out what I'm trying to do. This is a poor workaround, because copy seems to always be overwriting all files and overall does not, you know, sync. The solution I've found is simply not using sync and settling with copy.
